SWAAU is an affiliate of AAU Girls Basketball. SWAAU supports all i9 Sports of North Texas Events, Premier Basketball Tournaments that is played during an evaluation period for college scouts. SWAAU is the only Regional Association in the United States to have three National AAU Champions in 2004: 11U Texas Thunder, 13U Texas Express (back-to-back-to-back), and 17U Texas Express. In 2005, SWAAU also had a National Champion in the 13U Fort Worth Frogs.
